After a whirlwind of shows, appointments, parties and streetstyle snaps all in-between, the fall / winter shows at New York Fashion Week wrapped up on Thursday. Here are the top 5 takeaway moments that transpired over the nine days of fashion craziness.
1. Lady Gaga Walks Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs’ shows are always a magical spectacle to behold. Rumor had it that Lady Gaga would walk the runway; but her name didn’t appear on the show’s model list, save for a Stephanie (her real name is spelled “Stefani”). But walk she did, blending in with an oversized coat, skyscraper platforms and heavy, kohl makeup contrasting her platinum locks.
2. When DVF Had a Supermodel Dance Party
Instead of staging a regular runway show, Diane von Furstenberg transformed her Meatpacking District store into a nonstop dance party, where supermodels like Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge moved and grooved in DVF’s fall frocks that were heavily influenced by the ‘70s.
3. Rihanna’s Runway Debut

Though it’s certainly not out of the ordinary for a celebrity to show at fashion week, Rihanna’s Fenty Show for her Puma by Rihanna collection stayed true to her #badgal roots while elevating the athletic wear brand as the next in fashion athleisure.
4. Kanye West’s Yeezy Show / Album Release at Madison Square Garden
In typical Kanye fashion, West presented both his Yeezy Season 3 collection and debuted his new album, “The Life of Pablo,” with more than 1,200 models to a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden.
