This weekend, the Valley spices up as we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Here’s where the cerveza-packed parties are going down:
La Hacienda at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hosts a Cinco de Mayo party on the plaza, Saturday, May 5. The award-winning Scottsdale restaurant will kick off the evening with a strolling mariachi trio at 4 p.m., then welcomes salsa dancers and a five-piece Latin band from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. At this festival marketplace, guests are invited to visit Maria at her tortilla-making station, sample fresh salsas and order tacos off the restaurant’s street-style taco cart. (La Hacienda’s regular menu will also be served indoors and out.) Thirsty? La Hacienda has 240 selections of tequila and a dozen Mexican beers. Pepe, the resort’s beer burro who sports a miniature sombrero, totes beer in his satchel and will be available for photo ops from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Happy Hour, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Cinco de Mayo, offer $5 margaritas and tequila flights, $4 cervezas, $5 tacos and half-priced appetizers in the bar, lounge and patio. www.scottsdaleprincess.com.
