What a gorgeous Superbowl Sunday it was yesterday. In fact, it felt like a lovely spring day, not even remotely like the weather that we had last week. I almost wanted to put on my warm weather attire just to celebrate… tank top, sandals and all. Of course those bright and cheerful Old Navy commercials weren’t helping either with their magenta tee’s, skinny scarves and white jeans
Every time the “seasons” actually feel like they are changing an overwhelming desire to refresh either my makeup stash or my fragrance collection comes over me. Right now, it’s definitely all about a new scent. Finding the right new perfume is always a challenge for me so I am endlessly spraying and sniffing at the makeup counter…often times heading home smelling rather toxic instead of enchanting.
Last week I had the chance to try the fruity chypre aroma from Jimmy Choo. Inspired by the modern woman – empowered, seductive and glamorous with a mysterious sense of confidence and style, it’s like the ultimate accessory. This irresistible scent contains top notes of pear nectar and sweet Italian orange with heart notes of tiger orchid and bottom notes of Indonesian Patchouli. Housed in an exquisite amber bottle mimicking a Venitian Murano glass, the scent comes in a 2 and 3.3 oz EDP spray and a perfumed shower gel and body lotion. You can catch the ad campaign featuring Tamara Mellon Jimmy Choo founder & Chief Creative Officer. It’s available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Then of course there is the new fragrance by Kate Walsh called Boyfriend that has been on HSN for a few months but launched this weekend at Sephora. Though not every location carries the brand sephora.com will be carrying it as well. The idea for the fragrance we developed after Walsh broke up with an old boyfriend and realized how much she missed his cologne and the scent that lingers on your pillow. The top notes are dark plum and myrrh, middle notes of jasmine and benzoin tears and base notes of musk, amber and vanilla wood.
You can purchase Kate Walsh Boyfriend a la carte or as a set. One of the sets include an eau de parfum, as a pulse point oil, as a mini oil, body cream and a votive. Even better for the longest lasting aroma try the body cream layered with the pulse point oil… it’s rather yummy. Available at select Sephora stores.
