Here’s a fun fact: June 1st is National Go Barefoot Day. I dunno who comes up with these things really, but at any rate I figured in honor of it I’d put together some of the best products to pamper your feet with. Should you decide to participate in the “holiday” I figure you might as well put your best foot forward. And anyway, there’s no better way to start off the month than by pampering your tootsies with some much-needed relaxation.
I don’t do home pedicures. I absolutely suck at them so much, it’s unbelievable. But I am a firm believer in a little pampering between treatments and the Do Not Disturb Sole Warmer Kit is one of my faves. The kit comes with a lavendar lotion to massage onto your feet; then slip on the plastic covers and the micorwavable booties (also with lavender-scented inserts) and feel your stresses melt away. I’m telling you the smell alone is totally decadent. Really, there’s nothing like sitting on the couch and watching a good movie while your feet are warmed and moisturized in these booties. www.dodisturb.com.
Especially if you walk around barefoot often, it’s easy for your soles to get rough and callused between pedicures. When that’s the case, I love Artdeco’s Express Pedicure scrub. Micro-fine crystals exfoliate the skin while jojoba, sunflower, almond, grape and apricot oils nourish the skin. The orangey-cinammon scent is quite nice too. I heart this product so much because of its ability to moisturize the skin with oils and exfoliate all at once. Artdeco products are imported from Germany and available as part of the European Beauty Collection line of premium skincare found at Walgreens.
Your at-home pedicure spa kit wouldn’t be complete without a pumice stone. This Tweezerman pumice stone found at Sephora features a rough ceramic stone to slough off calluses and dead skin and a softer stone on the other side to smooth and massage your feet.
bliss spa products are definitely one of my favorites. If you don’t want to go all-out with the warming booties but still want to inject some much-needed moisture, this bliss Sock Salve foot smoothing balm with eucalyptus oil will definitely do the trick. For some super moisturizing power, slather on for twenty minutes and wear with the warming booties or some socks overnight. Your feet will wake up super silky smooth in the am.
my secret weapon for soft feet is vasoline–I just slather some on before bedtime and wear socks to bed.
bliss spa has a great line
