Every season we devour the pages of magazines, scout the runways, and stalk celebs for the newest and hottest trends. And that is exactly what I have been doing in an effort to find the freshest spring beauty trends to share with all of our lovely AFM Style Files readers. I skipped the nail polish (we already did that) and the hairdos (we did that too), but don’t worry that still left me with a plethora of beauty finds to share with you!
My personal favorite is the dramatic eyeliner looks we saw on the Spring 2012 RTW runways. To get the perfect cat-eye use a kohl eyeliner and start from the corner of the eye and move outward. If you want a more dramatic look use a gel liner and apply with an angled brush. Try Yves Saint Laurent “Dessin du Regard’ Eye pencil or Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel eyeliner, At Nordstrom.

Of course if you have a killer cat-eye you will also need thick, full, lashes… Our favorite is Cover Girl Lash Blast- the one in the orange tube. Be sure to layer no less than three coats for maximum volume and don’t forget the bottom lashes!
Bold brows, as one who suffers from too many brows (I can hear the sound of women telling me not to complain about such a blessing) I was excited to see thick, sculpted brows on the catwalk at Proenza Schouler. For what Jessica Simpson calls a “twofor” (Fashion Star reference) try the Benefit Somkin’ Eyes kit, At Sephora.
Perfectly pink lips are what we should all be aiming for this season. But first things first, we must make sure that we have soft, smooth lips. Try a lip exfoliator like Fresh Brown Sugar Lip Polish, which will buff away dry flakes and insure that those lips are pout ready. For a bright, electric pop of color use MAC lipstick in Lickable; if you are looking for something subtler check out Burberry’s “Cameo Pink.”
Peach cheeks are always a must-do for springtime and thankfully that is what the makeup artists at Tracy Reese gave us. Skip the shimmer for a healthier glow. You can use this exact blush from makeup artists Mally Roncal’s cosmetic line Mally Beauty 24/7 blush or try another favorite Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral…another twofor! At Mallybeauty.com and Bobbibrown.com
