Scottsdale Fashion Week kicked off last night with a bang. After a long day of shooting one of our upcoming fabulous fashion spreads, Foothills Creative Director, my assistant and I joined the Foothills bunch at the Face of Foothills Finale’ to catch the announcement of the new 2011 face that will be gracing the web site for the next year! It was a fun evening and I just loved seeing not only the FOF contestants but the Future FOF contestants. The winners respectively were Tori for FOF and Madison for Future FOF. Can I just say that both girls are the sweetest, and most darling things ever? I am excited to be working with Tori for our upcoming photo shoots!
Of course there were other events last night like Barneys NY cocktails for the fabulous AZ Costume Institute, Studio Joy Li’s fashion show which always proves to be impeccable, David Yurman, the Scottsdale Fashion Week Community Night and loads more. I wish I could have attended them all, but even a multi-tasker like me can’t be in five places at once. If I could figure out how to do that… bottle it and sell it, I would be sitting comfortably on my own private island right now.
Don’t forget there are daytime shows happening inside Scottsdale Fashion Square outside of the Barneys NY wing… so you can have your fix of everything from Lucky Jeans to Kate Spade.
Tonight however kicks off festivities on the main stage for Scottsdale Fashion Week. I am excited to see Luca Luca and Kevan Hall who also showed last year. If you aren’t familiar with Luca Luca expect to see a fabulous collection of gorgeous upscale gowns, dresses and flirty day wear all with an elegant touch. I loved so many things from their Spring collection that I can’t wait to see it in person.
And of course Kevan Hall makes the most beautiful dresses in flowy, gossamer fabrics that look lighter than air, not to mention that he isn’t afraid of bright colors which can be so refreshing on the red carpet for his notable Celebrity clientele including Vivica Fox, Kathryn Heigl, Vanessa Minnillo and Vanessa Williams.
The good news is that you can catch both designers and their collections today at Neiman Marcus where they will be making personal appearances before their shows this evening.
And of course Saturday night there are also plenty of Westcor shows happening all night so grab your tickets and get out there fashion fiends!
