Well, we made it through what ever that snow/sleet/slush/hail adventure was the other day! I suppose that was mother nature telling us that even though we like to think that we dictate the seasons (a la our fashions) we really don’t. There is so much going on in the fashion sphere right now, and I know I have said this time and time again, but I really don’t know where to focus!
The Oscars are on Sunday and I can’t wait to see what all of the Hollywood ladies will be showing up in… I’m hoping and praying that whatever it is, it is fierce and unexpected. So I thought that I might pick out a few dresses from the recent runways that I think should show up on the red carpet now and anytime in the future (cause I’m not entirely sure how plausible now would be… but I hear Rachel Zoe has some high and mighty friends).
I don’t know about you, but for me, Alberta Ferretti means romance, femininity, and eveningwear—her Fall 2013 collection is all of these. Black and white has been a favorite of celebs like Julianne Moore (her Tom Ford dress at the Golden Globes) and Beyoncé (she got a lot of flack for her Osman black and white jumpsuit at the Grammys). So, I can surely envision a Hollywood starlet wearing this long-sleeved black and white floor-length dress.
And then perhaps switch to this adorable sheer top and velvet skirt party dress for the after parties. The color is ever so striking.
Though many agree that Dsquared2 accomplished the 1940’s jazz menswear, but not so much the eveningwear… I would still love to see the brave souls who would wear this black gown with cage-like skirt… Angelina Jolie perhaps?
Or what about the opening number spotted on Karmen Pedaru. That’s a whole lot of feather to control.
What leading lady doesn’t want to say “Gucci” when asked what she is wearing on the red carpet? I think that Beyoncé could most definitely rock this spiderweb jumpsuit.
I am also highly intrigued by the last looks which consisted of dresses akin to, well, the forest floor in beautiful colors and flowing silk. These are for the most distinct nights out.
Who are you most looking forward to see on the red carpet this Sunday? Do you have any favorite red carpet designers? Let us know!
