Just the other day I had someone ask me – What is all this I am hearing about Fashion’s Night Out? Well in case you too have been living under some anti-fashion rock lately Fashion’s Night out is now celebrating its third year. Originally the brain child of a partnership between American Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) this global initiative was created to put a boost in the economy and restore the fun back to shopping during a sluggish economy. The party begins globally around the world at 6 pm with events going on in just about every major…and minor city throughout the country and globally including Italy, Australia and beyond.
Locally there are plenty of events that will keep even the most social fashion mavens hopping. I will be spending the evening at two of my favorite places Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue who are both planning fabulous fete’s.
First at Neiman Marcus, I will be primping up the models before enjoying an amazing Fall trend forecast show at 6:30 pm. There will also be plenty to do including a Billy Cotton personal appearance in the gift galleries where he will be showing off some of his marvelous tabletop creations. Then off to the Bessa Trunk show in the Precious Jewels Salon and mini makeovers plus gifts with purchases in the Cosmetic department. And don’t miss the Valley Youth theater performing selections from Hairspray or Ken Howie showing his Phoenix Art Museum Costume collection of images. Of course there will be plenty of bites from Modern Steak. And if you haven’t seen all the merchandise in store lately there is definitely something chic and fabulous for everyone!
Then it’s on to Saks Fifth Avenue where I along with Amanda from AZ Foothills will be blogging live in the AOL hosted ipad kiosks. Be sure to check out the cosmetics department where you can enjoy lip print reading, mini manis with Chanel’s Holographic nail lacquer and glowing skin tips from Revive skincare. Of course there will be plenty of fall trends modeled by the new faces at The Agency AZ and then you can slip over to the 10022 Shoe department to find your sole mate. And contrary to most of the crowds I mingle with I will also be enjoying culinary delights from Season’s 52, CPK, Black Chile Mexican Grill and Christopher’s & Crush Lounge.
Mark it on your calendars… I hope to see you there!
