There are so many designers, brands, boutiques, and department stores out there these days that it is a wonder that I can even choose where to shop. With the advancement of technology and the ability to create and recreate in a short period of time virtually anyone and everyone can make and sell clothing. Nonetheless, we all have those brands or stores we know that we can always count on—the “favorites.” The ones whose stores you step into and immediately find the most amazing A-line skirt, or perfect leather handbag—the “must-haves.” One of those places, for me, is Kate Spade New York… I’ve even tried to convince my husband that we should decorate the inside of our house like the inside of a Kate Spade shop.
With their newest Step Out In Stripes pattern of the month campaign I think that I now love the brand even more than I did before. Here is a look at my favorite pieces from this month’s collection.
The first piece that caught my eye and gave me the “I gotta have it” feeling was this flirty nautical version of the classic Kate Spade NY A-line ‘delphina’ skirt. You can wear a classic button up to work and then change into this neck tie ‘adira’ silk top, sport a top knot and add some heels for an uber trendy and sassy look (I vote for the latter).
This navy and white striped ‘bow’ cropped peacoat has so much to offer that I had to show you all three views. It’s a cross between sweet, flirty, and sophisticated … all of my favorite descriptions in one!
Now I realize that white and navy stripes can get overwhelming and quickly, so I suggest incorporating bold solids like these hot (as in so cool) pink skinny jeans.
I am one who appreciates a good flat, for several reasons: like the fact that I’m fairly tall and that I don’t want to ruin my feet or back. Anyway these ‘tasha’ ballerina flats are sure to take your favorite casual outfits to the next level and I can’t help but appreciate that they are crafted of cotton… so different.
We can’t send you off to the Kate Spade shop without mentioning handbags. I get the feeling that this ‘barlclay street sera’ handbag will soon be sold out. The old-school luggage detailing and top handle combined with stripes has literally made this the bag I’ve always wanted but just didn’t know I wanted/need…until now.
