The Pineapple Triangle

AZ-Wear-That-You-Care-Invite_Update-6.14Right in the heart of Downtown Phoenix this past Saturday Pinapple Triangle hosted the Arizona Wear That You Care event at Legend City Studios. Fashion bloggers, families and Phoenicians alike all congregated at Legend City Studios to shop local designers such as fashionable children’s clothes by Morgan Estelle’s Closet, designers turned do-gooders Junkie Threads, and relaxing resort wear by one of Phoenix Fashion Week emerging designer’s, Misha Mendencino.

One of my favorite things about this event is that a percentage of proceeds from not only the event but the purchases sales at each boutique were given to a charity of the designers choices. The live music and hand crafted soda’s were a nice touch to any already exceptionally event.

I really like the layout of Legend City, it is easy to find, indoors (with great air conditioning) and large enough to host such an event without anyone having to fight for extra space while they shopped. Each designer had a great story behind their brand and were very excited to share it with shoppers, for example Junkie Threads has partnered with Autism organization Not Your Typical to help bring awareness to the issue.

While enjoying my shopping excursion I also ended up networking with some really great people such as Drew Reyner founder of Give Back Printing. Not only does his service help local designers eliminate the middle man by helping them gain the skills to print their own materials, but he also makes a point to get involved with multiple charities around the valley from month to month (such as May Day Pitbull Rescue) to lend a literal helping hand.

All in all there was a great turnout for a great event and it is great to see Arizona wearing that it cares with a heart on its sleeve.

Stay Stylish,
