On the heels of her Fenty x Puma and Manolo Blahnik collabs, Rihanna is now partnering with Dior on an exclusive sunglass line.
“The process was pretty seamless,” said Rihanna told WWD. “I spent a day at Dior with their eyewear design team. I started by looking through all the archives to see what they’ve done in the past, then got acquainted with all the new materials. I literally sat there and drew and drew until I was happy with the design, and the team illustrated it for me right then and there. We picked materials and colors that same day, and after that it was a matter of weeks before I saw the first prototype.”
Simply named “Rihanna,” the singer said her design inspiration came from Star Trek’s La Forge.
Rihanna was already spotted wearing frames from the collection in an Instagram post published to her account over the weekend.
The futuristic shades come in silver, pink, blue, green and red, and will cost $850. A special 24-karat-gold-plated version will sell for $1,950. The “Rihanna” sunglasses collection will be available in June at Dior stores.
