We are so close, yet so far from our favorite fashion magazine issue of the year, The September Issue. Not only because it contains all the secrets of the world’s favorite fashion season–Fall Fashion–but because it contains so much of it! Now, if you aren’t a fashion lover then 300+ pages of fashion might seem entirely unnecessary, but we don’t care.
It is not only what is inside these phonebook-sized glossies that matters, in fact, what’s on the outside might actually matter more. September Issue covers are like mythical treasures, there are only whispers of who might be on the cover, but no one really knows (unless you’re sitting in on the editors’ meeting or even better, you were actually there to witness it happen).
Unfortunately, when the recession hit, many pages found themselves on the editing room floor… But there is a happy ending to this story. According to Refinery29.com several fashion magazines’ September Issues are making their way back up in size:
1. Vogue: 665 pages, up 1 percent2. InStyle: 455 pages, up 3 percent3. Elle: 422, up 12 percent4. Harper’s Bazaar: 397, up 10 percent5. W: 288 pages, up 17 percent6.
