Yesterday, major fashion names like Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Hermes, and Saint Laurent showed at Paris Fashion Week, but it was also the most immaculate day here in Arizona. The blue skies and warm weather have me in the mood for spring dresses not fall layers. So, today I want to put the fall fashion on hold and introduce you to some fabulous spring collections hitting our favorite stores now.
Lim skipped the neon hues for comfy Pajama Trousers and black t-shirt dresses for his 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring Collection. The New York designer’s spring collection radiates cool-girl attitude. Pair a high-shine jacket with pajama trousers and deconstructed plaid for a modern take on ’90s nonchalance.
Nordstrom, $450
These silk pj trousers are a fun and new alternative to the fancy pants we have seen in stores for the past year or so. Made of silk they provide endless possibilities, from uber comfortable to très chic all with a simple change of shoes and accessories.
Nordstrom, $115
The “I love nueva york” muscle tank is for the edgy chick who refuses to succumb to the flirty florals of spring… Though I bet it might actually look really cute tucked into a brightly colored maxi skirt.
Karen Kane, $99
Another designer who decided to skip the floral is Karen Kane, replacing the obvious choice with the unexpected Ikat print a la the Indigo Bay part of their Spring collection… which I think may be my new favorite print.
This tassled sweater and electric green pant combo screams seaside brunch, and will be available next month as part of the Electric Blue collection. The seahorse scarf is also a spring and summer must-have (I need to get my hands on one asap)!
Karen Kane, $222
Then there is the striped Motorcycle jacket that everyone should have, because stripes are classic, moto jackets are cool, and you can wear it year round. Pair it with everything from a maxi dress to your favorite colored denim.
Of course I couldn’t just leave florals out of the picture altogether. Free People’s March collection is now available and I must say, they make flowers the thing to wear, but in that super cool chick, Free People way.
Free People, $625
The must-have maxi of the season is this “On The Eve Lace Column Dress.” You’ll feel sexy even if you are wearing sandals and a headband with this number.
Free People, $128
If you are feeling confident and flirty then this mixed florals jumpsuit is for you. Made of 100% cotton this is the ideal (and breathable) choice for a spring date night… How could anyone resist a woman this confident?
