The fall 2014 couture shows have been well underway this week in the city of light. Here are some key trends fresh off the Paris runways that are guaranteed to translate to the red carpet.
The Angelina
Models strutting down the runways of Maison Martin Margiela, Ulyana Sergeenko and Atelier Versace had legs for days wearing elaborate dresses with slits that dared to bare up to their hipbones à la Angelina Jolie.
Full Hips
Even fashion has to admit that hips don’t lie. Designers like Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli gave freedom and movement to the body’s lower half this season, sometimes even to the point of over-exaggeration, like Chanel’s egg-shaped dress.
White Power Suits
For the couture bride-to-be, a white jumpsuit might fit the bill from Atelier Versace, Armani Privé or Christian Dior.
Flounce & Fluff
Armani Privé reaffirmed that sometimes nothing is more glamorous than a puffy coat. Both Chanel and Giambattista Valli took things to the next level with flouncy evening dresses in cotton candy-colored hues.
