When Less Is More On The Red Carpet

There is no doubt about it, we love simplicity, minimalism, classic style and of course the monochromatic color palette. There is nothing more chic than the woman who walks into an event in an elegant number, a simple do, and minimal accessories–her dress and her confidence telling the entire story.

Audrey does it just right in this 1954 Givenchy dress: no bracelets, no necklace, just a pair of pearl earrings and that 1000-watt smile.

At this year’s Oscars, Rachel McAdams and Jennifer Lawrence set a very modern example. Both went with a soft up-do and minimal jewelry, which didn’t just allow their gorgeous gowns to shine, but their personalities as well.

If there is anyone who just exudes confidence on the red carpet or anywhere for that matter it is Gwyneth Paltrow. Certainly she has the body to wear whatever she wants, but we all know that it still takes guts to show it off. She is always minimal in her use of makeup and accessories and we love her for it.

We think that Eva Longoria looks her best in her signature solid-colored just-over-the-knee dresses. Nothing too fussy, no large statement pieces, and no frills, layers, or long trains to overwhelm her tiny frame.
