If you’ve read my blog more than say, once, you already know I’m a big big fan of shopbop.com. Today you’ll notice the company’s site has been totally overhauled, making our shopping experience even better than ever. The front page now has a few user-friendly options; you can choose to shop the newest, hottest, latest; take a tour of the newly redeveloped site; shop by style (this section includes 5 mini-boutiques segmented by whether your style is bohemian, casual chic, classic, edgy or girly); or shop by occasion. Currently when you “shop by occasion” the options are for a black-tie affair, summer wedding, the office, weekend essentials, beach vacation or night out. My suspicions tell me that come fall, “summer wedding” will be “winter wedding” and other changes like that will take place.
You can still browse the Shopbop Lookbooks and shop by Top Sellers, Editors’ Picks, Shopbop Exclusives, Designers, what’s new, etc. These options are located as tabs at the top or along the left-hand side once a section is selected.
Today, I’m in the mood to “shop my style” since I’m never really sure what my “style” is. It tends to be whatever mood strikes me which is always a mix of classic, girly and edgy. Though I’m always secretly dying to inject some “bohemian” into my wardrobe, I somehow never seem to do it. Nicole Richie can pull it off but I’m not sure I can.
But if I were I’d start with something like:
This Victorian Hippie fairy necklace. If you’re just trying out a trend or in this case “look” it’s always easy to just dip your feet first and start slowly with some accessories. $128.
This Alex and Ani vintage bohemian cocktail ring is one I’d add to my new bohemian accessories collection as well. It’s gold-plated using recycled metals so it’s eco-friendly too. $58.
This Joie top has just the right bit of classic/bohemian that it’s approachable for me. On sale for $138.
This Dolce Vita Jasmine dress is quite sassy and bohemian too. Mostly, it just looks super comfortable! I could definitely don this look with some cute sandals like the ones pictured and the big bold cocktail ring posted above. $341.
By far my favorite bohemian look in the section is this Anna Sui embellished V-neck dress. When you zoom in you can see it has some really amazing beadwork, fringe and applique details. The shoes are also a perfect pairing. $1,861.
I love the “shop by occasion” feature. Sometimes it can be so daunting to figure out what to wear to certain events, and this can really help!
Love the idea of “shop my style,” very helpful.
i like the ring a lot.
