Chanel has brought back the illustrious hair bow just in time for the holidays.
Karl Lagerfeld debuted Chanel’s annual American Métiers d’Art show before an audience of international buyers and editors Tuesday evening in Dallas, Texas. The Western-inspired Pre-Fall 2014 collection employed traditional Native American motifs and bows made of hair.
The show’s hairstylist, Sam McKnight, told Allure magazine that he achieved the naturally feminine look by using fake hair matched to the models’ tresses to create the elaborate bows. The bows were placed either into a low pony or safely secured onto the tops of the models’ heads.
