Have you seen Miley C on the previous cover of Elle? And that fab pictorial inside? How about Jen Aniston’s upcoming September cover in leather? I mean really who can’t resist a good biker chic moment in fashion even if it is on a teen queen? This trend is perched firmly at the top of my wish list… really love – no sarcasm here! It’s like a Sandra Dee moment meets Faster, Pussycat! Kill, Kill. (A Russ Meyer’s classic) Ever since Brando stepped into that little town caught between two biker gangs in The Wild One’s our leather dreams have never been the same.
This season it’s a perfect blend of grown up day dresses, handbags and designer pumps all done in buttery rich leathers, then topped off with naughty meets nice grommets, studs and zippers. Yves Saint Laurent deliciously swathed their models in the most sexy secretary frocks imaginable and the criss- cross pumps to die for…. Hello kitty!!!!
If there’s more secretary than Biker babe in your persona here are a few investment items to spice up your journey without draining your wallett.
But don’t forget – never work a trend from head to toe, that simply begs for a fashion faux paux moment that you will never live down in the age of social networking. Must I repeat we live in a digital age… big brother is always watching!
Be on the lookout for this Emporio Armani fitted leather jacket, it works with everything from jeans to snug dresses and it won’t break the bank the way most leather’s can.
Affordable and sexy this leather dress by Cynthia Steffe is simultaneously body conscious and flattering.
If a sassy pair of heels is your sweet fetish then these studded Jimmy Choo’s will have you shrieking with delight! Saks Fifth Avenue
But never fear bargainista’s you can look equally chic in these Steve Madden suede and metal numbers for less than a third of the price of those Jimmy’s at $130 Steve Madden stores
This Tory Burch tote is definitely the perfect investment, it’s chic and versatile enough to be all things to all outfits this season. netaporter.com
These Miu Miu studded leather gloves will have you looking ready for a fashion duel at a moments notice and are one of the my top accessory picks for fall/winter. netaporter.com
Lastly who can resist a really good chunky bibb necklace. This Ranjana Kahn is such a show stopper that you could wear it with a white tee and jeans and still look like a rock star.
Or try this Juicy Couture number reminiscent of Madonna’s rosary wearing years.
i hate bike chic. i thought this trend was over…ugh.
I think even this “good girl” can pull off that purse!
I love black and I’m pretty excited about this.
I have always loved leather–know matter how casual an outfit, leather ups the chic factor.
I hate Miley Cyrus but love that pic! I have a brown leather jacket that I live in during the winter.
im to scared of bikers to wear this stuff. isnt biker chic like always in?
I love that picture of JA. She looks great!
not a huge biker chic fan… but i think wearing just a few key pieces is HOT! love the steve madden’s
Can’t wait for the cooler weather to pull out the black leather from the closet!!!
MMMmmmmm I can smell it now.
So someone chime in on how much is too much to combine at one time…one piece plus one accessory?
Unless you are having your own In Style magazine photo op, a good rule of thumb is to wear a basic piece like a leather skirt or dress and add one or two accent pieces ie: bangles and shoes, or handbag and necklace. You definitely don’t want to deck out from head to toe in one trend!
I have to have the gloves shown above!
