From the best doctors and best resort down to the best cup of coffee you can find around town, each Best of titleholder is chosen by those who know the city best – our readers.
Each week, we’ll be highlighting individual winners from Best of Our Valley 2018, who share their advice, insights and thoughts on what it means to be a part of this exclusive list.
The Best of spotlight is on Laurie’s Bridal, who claimed the Valley’s Best Wedding Dress Shop. Congrats, Laurie’s Bridal!
AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about you!
Laurie’s Bridal (LB): Laurie’s Bridal is a family owned and operated boutique specializing in bridal, bridesmaids, mother of the wedding, prom and Bat Mitzvah attire, all at affordable prices. Laurie provides a warm, comfortable and friendly environment, where she is completely focused on helping her customers find their perfect gown. She’s also the only bridal boutique where the owner, Laurie, attends to ALL of the bridal consultations herself. Laurie’s Bridal also offers off-the-rack solutions for customers who may not have time to special order.
AFM: What does it mean to you to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
LB: We know there were many excellent choices to win this honor, but as a newer boutique, this is HUGE for us. Thank you so much.
AFM: What’s your favorite part about being the Best of Our Valley’s Most Influential in Valley Food?
LB: Our favorite part about being voted “Best Wedding Dress Shop” is that this vote came from customers and vendors whom we have worked with within the 2 years we’ve been open. It’s an indication that we’re doing things right.
AFM: What advice would you give to others to be the “best” in your field?
LB: I tell all of my customers to be true to who they are when shopping for their perfect gown. I’d say that advice holds true for all businesses: Stay true to who you are as a business. Customers truly appreciate it.
AFM: Have you seen any benefits as a result of being a BOOV winner?
LB: Many of our customers have said they saw we were voted “Best Wedding Dress Shop” and they’re excited to be a part of our experience.
AFM: How do you put your “best” foot forward every day?
LB: As a wife, mother of two teenagers and a business owner, life is always crazy. This is an industry full of emotions and love, and I truly love to be a part of each of their stories in some fashion. I’ve laughed with my brides and have cried with my brides, and I’ve even attended their weddings!
Many industry professionals, as well as her customers, have referred to Laurie as the “Bridal Gown Whisperer” because she has this amazing ability to help each customer find their perfect gown or dress.
