The Best of spotlight is on Abel Gallegos, who snagged Best Tucson-Based Fashion Designer. Congrats, Abel!
AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about you:
Abel Gallegos (AG): I’m someone who is still discovering their true self and their true potential. I choose using clothing/the art of making it to show the journey I’m going on.
AFM: What does it mean to you to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
AG: To me it means that people believe in my work, that they see something in it that resonates with them.
AFM: In your opinion, what is the best part about being the winner for Best Tucson-Based Fashion Designer?
AG: The best part is just being recognized period, I was surprised I was even nominated. That was mind blowing enough honestly, I’m still in shock that I even won. Now I just want to live up to that title and push myself to produce more quality work.
AFM: How do you put your “best” foot forward every day?
AG: Taking a step back, deep breath, and telling myself “you got this, you’re more capable than you know.”
