For over the past 20 years, we’ve celebrated the Valley’s best. From the top businesses and professionals to the people who make it all happen, Arizona Foothills Magazine’s annual Best of Our Valley contest recognizes Arizona’s crème de la crème across more than 400 categories. From the best doctors and best resort down to the best cup of coffee you can find around town, each Best of titleholder is chosen by those who know the city best – our readers.

Each week, we’ll be highlighting individual winners from Best of Our Valley 2018, who share their advice, insights and thoughts on what it means to be a part of this exclusive list.

Dearing Acting Studio

The Best of spotlight is on Dearing Acting Studio, who claimed the Valley’s Best Acting Studio. Congrats, Dearing Acting Studio!

AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about Dearing Acting Studio! 
Dearing Acting Studio (DAS): We inspire dreamers to achieve long term success as actors and people through a commitment to passion, love and mastery.  Our unique teaching process highlights the parallels between acting and life enabling our students to let go of fear and doubt.  We train beginners, high profile celebrities, CEO’s and corporate sales teams.
AFM: What does it mean to you to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
DAS: The Best of Our Valley award is a way for our community of students to actively support our mission publicly.  We are honored to have been voted the Best of Our Valley winner the last 4 years in a row.  We’re grateful to all of our supporters, the award means a lot to us.
AFM: What’s your favorite part about being the Best of Our Valley’s Best Acting Studio?
DAS: We’ve dedicated over a decade to helping others achieve their dreams.  Our job requires us to remain in the shadows while those we train move into the spotlight.  We love what we do and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world but admittedly its nice to be recognized and hang those plaques on the wall. 🙂
AFM: What advice would you give to others to be the “best” in your field?  
DAS: Our studio is founded on three words: Passion, Love, Mastery.  This is the best advice we can give actors and really anyone in any field.  Do what you are passionate about, choose love over fear and dedicate yourself to the daily pursuit of mastery in whatever your craft may be.
AFM: Have you seen any benefits as a result of being a BOOV winner?
DAS: Best of Our Valley has been around a long time and people definitely respect the AZ Foothills publication.  There have been many benefits through gaining more exposure and expanding our brand.
AFM: How do you put your “best” foot forward every day?
DAS: We strive to better ourselves everyday and we’re committed in every facet of our business to provide more value than we are being paid to deliver.
