AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about The Phoenician, specifically its tea experience and lobby bar at The Thirsty Camel.
The Phoenician: An AAA Five Diamond luxury resort, The Phoenician has recently transformed itself — the result of the most massive renovation undertaken since the property opened on October 1, 1988, nearly 30 years ago. The new, more intimate setting of The Phoenician Tea Room is complemented by the resort’s traditional three-course menu of delicate finger sandwiches; scones with imported Devonshire cream, lemon curd and fruit preserves; a variety of tempting pastries and a selection of premier teas, all accompanied by the stylings of the resident pianist. The redesigned Thirsty Camel captures the sweeping views of the resort and Valley beyond with floor-to-ceiling windows and an expansive outdoor terrace. A fresh, signature menu of cocktails and tastes is inspired by the Sonoran Desert.
AFM: What does it mean to you to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
