I didn’t know there were awards for candles, but I guess everything needs to be judged and recognized. On that note, let’s congratulate Laura Slatkin’s first personal candle collection, NEST Fragrances, for winning the Interior Scent of the Year award at the annual FIFI Awards. This collection triumphed over other category finalists including big names like Crabtree & Evelyn, Bath & Body Works and Dayna Decker.
Sponsored by the Fragrance Foundation, the annual FIFI Awards honor various fragranced items in their respective product categories. The Interior Scent of the Year for 2009 must have been a product introduced in 2008 that achieved star status through national consumer response to its packaging, advertising and promotion. Entries were judged on the following criteria: olfactory impression, presentation/packaging and commercial viability.
The NEST collection certainbly does have winning looks and lovely scents. The candles are available in 12 fantastic scents (my favorites are Pink Jasmine and Orange Blossom) and are available at Neiman Marcus. They each cost $32 for an 8.1 oz candle.

ive seen these at Neimans. they smell AMAZING – no wonder they won Scent of the YEar.
I started buying cheaper candles thinking there couldn’t be that much difference…there is! $32 is a great investment for something that will really freshen up your home.
There are a gazillion brands of candles out there, so these must be really good!
I didn’t know there were awards for candles either!
