Margot Robbie takes the pink water slide from Barbie’s bedroom down to the crystal-blue acrylic pool, which she then elegantly walks across in her pink heels.
“Even though it’s fake, it’s really beautiful, which is kind of like everything in Barbie land,” she says in the official Barbie Dreamhouse tour on Architectural Digest’s YouTube channel.
The actress in the upcoming Barbie movie recently invited fans inside the set design of the Barbie Dreamhouse, which perfectly replicates the iconic doll’s world with pink on top of pink and beautiful, playful decor.
The Barbie doll was invented in 1959, so the house itself is influenced by the designs of the ‘50s and ‘60s, embracing the look of a mid-century Palm Springs home. All the walls of the Barbie Dreamhouse are see-through, so Barbie and her friends can wave to each other across the different rooms and doll-like structures throughout the home.
Inside the home, fans can expect everything they would have imagined in a real-life Barbie Dreamhouse. The house is dressed in every shade of pink; from the bright pink wallpaper to the light pink ‘50s-style fridge and oven, pink furniture, fluffy pink pillows and more. Pastel colors are also incorporated throughout the home, as well as 2D decals that provide the distinct look of toy products.
The Dreamhouse also features a magical pink wardrobe where Barbie brushes her hair and gets dressed in the morning, a pink spiral staircase leading to Barbie’s bedroom with her bedazzled sea-shell bed, plastic doll elements, like Barbie’s larger-than-life toothbrush and pink flamingo mailbox, plus beautiful views of Barbie Land where Barbie and the other dolls drive off in their pink cars to seize the perfect day ahead.
