Carrie Long, of Carrie Long Interiors (CLI), walks us through this beautiful desert getaway, built in part with Scottsdale-based Lablonde Homes. The vacation home boasts a modern desert aesthetic, nestled in the mountains, with plenty of room to entertain the homeowner’s large, extended family with ease.
Breakfast Nook
“The breakfast nook features vintage 1970’s chairs, along with a butcher block-topped table, which creates a super durable surface for the family. We couldn’t find a mirror we loved for above the banquet, so the CLI team custom-made the piece you see here.”
Den
“The real focal point of the den is the custom light fixture our team created, which measures 5-ft. around, scaling with the large size of the space and the grand fireplace. The fixture illuminates the multiple seating areas throughout the room – which was designed as a ‘flex space’ for the family to watch TV, read in the comfy armchairs, or have a drink at the bar (not pictured).”
Outdoor Space
“This client has a large family and loves to entertain – having 25 to 30 people over at a time. This fabulous outdoor space allows for the family to grill, dine al fresco, and enjoy the fire pit area. There is also a massive door-wall that opens the living room to the outdoor dining area – truly showing what is means to bring the outdoors in.”
Kitchen
“When the client bought the plans for this house, our team had the freedom to completely redraw the interior space, including this kitchen. We ensured copious amounts of counter space and seating areas to further accommodate the family’s love to entertain, as well as their six children. We were also thrilled to find the countertops – which are black and gold granite sourced locally in Arizona.”
Master Bedroom
“When designing the home, we wanted to make sure it truly fit into its surroundings – creating a desert chic feel. You can see this here in the exposed wooden ceiling beams, as well as the petrified stone tables and the amazing views of the landscape outside. The CLI team also custom-made the bed here, flanked by included sleek, floating nightstands.”
