Design Spotlight: Painted Sky

Brent Kendle, of Scottsdale-based Kendle Design Collaborative, says his clients craved a home of modern simplicity–thus Painted Sky was born.

The single-level home was organized about an enclosed courtyard, a traditional southwestern archetype that provides privacy while drawing light to the interior via walls of glass. Materials include natural field stone, earth-toned stucco, naturally weathered copper and cold-rolled steel. The extensive use of glass ensures that the desert surroundings are always on display.
