This design won third place for Best Model Home for the 2017 ASID Design Excellence Awards as well as an Award of Merit for Best Multi-Family Community under 18 du/acre at the 2017 Golden Nugget Awards.  The Rushmore model is an organic take on desert contemporary design with an emphasis on blending natural wood elements, raw metals and exposed concrete against a powerful backdrop of earth tones. Wood and copper decorative lighting accessorize the Rushmore model. Intricate ceiling details and furniture selections are low profile, heavily raw and unfinished. Warm leathers, neutral upholstery, fur throws and pops of burnt oranges and navy soften the design and create a dynamic balance of elements.

The Overlook at FireRock: Agua Fria Model

For the Agua Fria model, the Est Est designers chose to feature dimensional wallcovering with subtle undertones and large format chiseled limestone tiles on the horizontal surfaces to create a soft play on the texture of the natural architectural elements. Smooth finishes with polished silver and gold accents brighten the soft pallet of sea foam green, light aqua, blue and grey tones, creating a glamorous chic and refined design.

Wallick & Volk

Est Est’s Tony Sutton and Elaine Alexander won 1st Place Commercial over 5000 Square Feet at the 2017 ASID Design Excellence Awards for this real estate and mortgage office. The firm remodeled the raw space for 22 offices, an open reception lounge, a break area/coffee bar, storage, restrooms and conferencing areas with high occupancy. A challenge was to create a welcoming first impression for clients and a delightful work environment for employees. The use of organic woods and clean contemporary finishes reflects current residential design trends, evident in the reception lounge and the character most sought after by home buyers. Space planning allowed every employee to have a window while conference rooms were positioned in the center.  A secondary challenge was the size of a conference room to be used by staff and for bi-annual meetings with visiting colleagues.  Creative space planning and the use of glass partitions resolved the issue. The room feels comfortable and casual when used for open-door meetings and the transparency prevents it from feeling contained during bi-annual conferences when it is at maximum capacity.
