Blooms, Builds and Bites: Maricopa County Home & Garden Show Returns

The Maricopa County Home & Garden Show, the largest and longest-running home show in the Southwest, will return to the Arizona State Fairgrounds Friday, January 10 through Sunday, January 12, with exclusive experiences, hands-on activities, deals on home improvement, and more – all included with $5 admission. Spanning over 450,000 square feet, the event will feature experiences that cater to diverse interests.

“This event offers high value in experiences and deals. You’ll feel a sense of community as soon as you step through the gate,” Show Manager Katie Jones said. “With new elements like an electric vehicle showcase and returning favorites like tiny homes, the Taste of the Desert, and more, there’s something for everyone.”

Visitors can stroll through a tiny home neighborhood, each showcasing the innovative designs and clever space utilization of compact living. A 3D-printed tiny home will be featured, offering a glimpse into the future of home construction with cutting-edge robotics. Also on display is a refurbished walk-through modern home made entirely from donated materials, showcasing sustainable and recycled building practices.

For gardening enthusiasts, free hands-on workshops will teach you tips on growing and maintaining medicinal herbs like lavender, chamomile, and ashwagandha. Visitors can also learn flower-arranging techniques and create a custom soil blend to enhance their gardening efforts. The popular “Ask a Master Gardener” area will be available, where trained experts will offer advice on container gardening, succulents, and more.

The “Taste of the Desert” section offers 18,000 square feet of culinary delights from local vendors, live music, and complimentary food and drink samples. Meanwhile, the Handmade Headquarters will host free craft workshops, where guests can create personalized items like Arizona-themed home show magnets, pearl pendant necklaces, copper artwork, and more.

Free seminars will offer expert advice on everything from home remodeling to tree care. Special segments include a Q&A session on electric vehicles, where experts will break down everything you need to know before purchasing, and a workshop on caring for trees and shrubs.

Free craft workshops are offered for children ages 4-12, including creating treasure chest crafts, learning magic tricks, and even building a copper cactus alongside caregivers. The show will also feature a Plant Pavilion where visitors can explore a variety of cacti, succulents, exotic botanicals, and house plants. Attendees will learn about the benefits of essential oils and explore the latest trends in plant care.

Admission is $5 for adults, and kids ages 0-12 are $2. There are also special offers throughout the weekend, including Senior Morning on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with $2 admission for guests 60 and older. Military and teacher appreciation discounts are also available throughout the weekend, with $2 admission for valid military and Arizona school ID holders.
