Scottsdale-based luxury custom home builder Cullum Homes is busily putting final touches on the rainbow-hued Lego-like, 4,415-sq.-ft. house in The Village at Silverleaf community. For the first time ever in Scottsdale, Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)–which are often compared to the popular building brick and have been painted red, green, blue, white and yellow–are being used to craft a home, thanks to the partnership between Cullum Homes and ICF Specialists Ltd. Best of all, the duo built this block toy concept in support of Special Olympics Arizona. (To make a donation, click here.)
Not only do the forms create a unique look, but they are friendly to the environment as well. Because of the concrete and foam construction, ICF structures are energy efficient, sound proof, reduce up to 70 percent of air pollution from the outside, and are resistant to hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and termites.
If you’re hoping to make The Village at Silverleaf home, there are currently four remaining lots and two for-sale model homes available for purchase. For real estate inquiries, contact Mike Sweeney at Msweeney@silverleaf.com.
