Sometimes finding green-friendly home products is a task all its own. One Web site is making it a little easier to locate a variety of green products for all aspects of your abode.
ModernEcoHomes.com is the first website that is truly an online hub for green products, says site creator Kristen Banker. The site has partnered with dozens of merchants that offer green products, also offering valuable coupons only available to Modern Eco Homes shoppers.

The economic downturn hasn’t stopped the conscientious consumer from buying green.
In the Stanford Social Innovation Review, McKinsey consultants Sheila Bonini and Jeremy Oppenheim wrote that a third of U.S. consumers “are ready to buy green products or have already done so.” Four out of five people say they are still buying green products and services today – which sometimes cost more – even in the midst of a U.S. recession, according to a new study by Green Seal and EnviroMedia Social Marketing.
A woman with a passion for green living has launched ModernEcoHomes.com, a website that is “one-stop shopping” for green products in numerous categories, including baby, home, furniture, apparel, pet and much more.

A unique element of the Modern Eco Homes site is the green concierge service. Shoppers searching for a particular item or type of item can email the ModernEcoHomes.com concierge service, and Banker’s team of green enthusiasts will find the product for them.
Modern Eco Homes connects the shopper with more than 90 online merchants. It showcases environmentally friendly products to everyone at all economic levels.
Green writer and blogger Colleen Vanderlinden praised Modern Eco Homes on Planet Green. She wrote: “If you are looking for an easy way to shop green, there’s nothing more convenient than doing it at home, in your pajamas, and having someone else do all of that searching for you. Modern Eco Homes is definitely worth a look.”
Not all merchants affiliated with Modern Eco Homes are not considered “green,” but the website sources the green products that they do offer to add them to the hub.
“While some of the products listed on our site are greener than others, the finished goods offered are more planet and people friendly than their conventional counterparts,” Banker said. “Modern Eco Homes was created to help meet the demand for more sustainable living.”

I love the recent influx of green products coming in to the market lately. They are making their way into multiple categories and are a very welcome addition. The green movement has to start with responsible manufacturers that are committed to selling products that are beneficial and harmless to the environment. When the consumer has options they will be more inclined to buy a green product and hopefully the trend moves forward and gains popularity.
