A typical day in my life includes…Lots of pivots in whatever artsy direction I feel like.
I was born… in Smithtown, NY. I am a proud New Yorker but lost my accent. I could turn it back on at any time though!
My favorite thing about Arizona is… the dry weather and sunsets. I would take warm over cold any day!
I’m listening to…Goalcast, motivational podcasts, Pandora depending on my mood.
My family…is my world. Quarantine is agreeable with us.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… My Grandpa. He was the greatest. Always happy and we would eat chocolate together once again.
One thing I cannot live without…art supplies.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… an artist. I named my storefront studio Be…An Artist.
I’m inspired by…positive people.
The one person who motivates me is…my Mom is a great motivator. She always told me to do what I love, and that was the best advice I ever received.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… the amount of hate going on.
The perfect day would be… Make art, spend quality time with my family, make art, spend quality time with my family, inspire others through art, spend time with my family and chat with friends.
My first job was… selling berries off my boysenberry tree when I was about 7 years old
My favorite escape… A place in upstate New York. A quiet lake, boats, and family history. We go there to paint.
My life…a whirlwind of creative adventures!
I’m currently working on…My children’s food art book with stories. Oh is it CUTE! I can’t wait!

More About Sandra Marshall:
I have been an artist my entire life. I paint, sculpt, create colorful food art, write, teach, and work with all forms of art media. My life’s mission is to spread the joy of art and creativity to everyone I meet.
I owned a creative studio in Ahwatukee for five years and it was one wild and creative ride! We had live entertainment, painting classes and events, comedy nights, and shows. I also owned a company for several years called ‘Porta a Porta’ where I would take inspiring artists back and forth from the United States to Italy to learn to paint.
I have my degree in Early Childhood Education from ASU. I closed my studio, Be…An Artist, to have more time to paint, write, and follow my imagination. In addition to creating art on a full-time basis, I have a line of boutique painting boxes, books, calendars, and other products. I also teach large groups on Zoom how to create the perfect painting. I can’t wait to do big painting parties on location again when COVID-19 is under control!
