A typical day in my life includes…
I perform on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday night every week at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. Before my gigs, I spend my mornings exercising whether it’s hiking, yoga or at the gym, its fun to change it up. I write every day, it’s important to be creative on a regular basis regardless of the level. Some days I write lyrics, other times its composition and arrangements, and sometimes it’s both! I look forward most to performing which is great fun.
I was born…
in Santa Barbara, CA. I was the only baby born in the hospital on that day. My parents had the entire maternity ward and nurses to themselves. I am their first-born; my sister Layla followed 22 months after me.
My favorite thing about Arizona…
Scottsdale is my home. I’m grateful for my family, friends and fans that are here. I love being enabled to pursue and enjoy my passion for recording and performing in Arizona.
I’m listening to…
Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories”. It’s an album that my friends and I all really enjoy listening to. It also serves as a nice break from listening to album cuts off my upcoming record.
My family…
I hold my family most dear. I wouldn’t be where I am without the love and support of my sister Layla, my Dad and Mom. We love going hiking, taking our Miniature Pinschers “Mini” and “Maddie” to the park and taking trips to California.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
Paul Epworth is an incredibly creative mind in the music industry. I can only imagine the depth of his knowledge and experience in writing and producing music.
One thing I cannot live without…
cold pressed juice! I can’t get enough! I especially like green juice; kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, parsley with some orange…very good for you AND equally tasty.
When I was younger, I wanted to be…
music for me was always so necessary; I really never imaged anything outside of a career in music. I experimented with film, dance and tennis but I always felt music having the largest impact.
I’m inspired by…
people who aren’t hindered by their challenges and fears. Those who set goals, go after what they want and turn their dreams into reality using heart and hard work.
The one person who motivates me is…
I think we are all our own best motivators. You have to tap into yourself and your passion to find what truly motivates you. Knowing yourself and how to challenge yourself can be the best motivator.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
music education in our schools. I have been fortunate enough to spend time with the GRAMMY Foundation, working with their “GRAMMY in the Schools” programs. These programs are designed to inspire young people who have a passion for music and to promote music education in our schools. I personally attended a two week event in 2008 called “GRAMMY Camp” and had an inspiring experience. I would strongly suggest taking a look at the “GRAMMY in the Schools” programs and what they have to offer music education and young musicians!
The perfect day would be…
today is a perfect day! I’m alive and well, able to write, perform and record music and spend time with my loved ones. I’m so grateful.
My first job was…
when I was 11, I recorded my first record at Capitol Records in Los Angeles with producer Jeff Weber, David Benoit and the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra. After the record was finished, I went on a Borders Books tour to promote it. I performed at Borders all around Arizona and California. I took days off school and did my homework on the drive, so I could perform music that I love.
My favorite escape…
the Pacific Coast.
My life…
is extraordinarily blessed. I’m grateful to God for my successes and challenges, its all His.
I’m currently working on…
my 4th original record. My single “See You Again” is available on iTunes along with my last 2 original records. I am getting ready to release another single from my new record, very soon. I’m excited to share my new sound with fans. All my social media websites are updated with behind the scenes looks, release dates and the latest news on my next record. In addition to being in the studio, I perform regularly at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale!
Always…
listen.
Never…
pursue anything without passion.
Favorite Quote…
“The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.” — C. S. Lewis
Biggest Dream…
I want to use my life to connect with people and have a positive impact on others’ lives. I hope to do that through my music, relationships and experiences.
My Pet Peeve(s)…
too much dressing on salad. Dressing on the side, please!
