Title: Vegan baker & business owner

City you live in: Scottsdale.
A typical day in my life includes… a quick yoga flow, baking (of course), administrative work for the business, squeezing in time to eat, and I usually always end my nights spending time with my partner!
I was born… in La Jolla, California.
My favorite thing about Arizona… the smell of creosote in the rain & the sunsets. Can’t beat AZ sunsets.
I’m listening to… Mac Miller, Frank Ocean, Michael Kiwanuku, Beyonce, and true crime podcasts.
My family… is huge! My dad’s side is Jamaican and my mom’s is American. I have family living all over the states, Jamaica, Canada & England. Everyone is pretty tight.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Beyonce.
One thing I cannot live without… music! It truly fuels my soul.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… a detective or a forensic scientist. As I got older I quickly realized my stomach is too weak for that.
I’m inspired by… Beyonce. Oh and Tajia & AJ from Hot Sauce n Pepper. Some of my favorite food in the valley. Everyone should check them out.
The one person who motivates me is… my sister!
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… the prevalence of racism and poverty. It’s way past time for all of that to go.
The perfect day would be… spent in Jamaica with my loved ones and good food 🙂
My first job was… P.f. Chang’s on Mill Ave 🙂
My favorite escape… skateboarding & listening to music. Traveling with my partner or my girls when I can is also super important!
My life… is chaotic and absolutely perfect.
I’m currently working on… a website 😂 and some new tasty menu items for spring!
Always… shop local & support Black-owned/women-owned businesses!
Never… be racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic. Ugly and harmful.
Favorite Quote… “see trouble before trouble sees you.” – my dad
Biggest Dream… owning property in Spain.
My Pet Peeve(s)… the sound of teeth scraping a fork, sloppiness, waking up hot.
More About Gabrielle Campbell:
Hi, my name is Gabrielle and I am the owner and sole employee of The Divine Vegan, a home bakery in Scottsdale, Arizona! After living in 9 different states growing up, I decided to move to Arizona in 2015 to go to ASU. I graduated in the spring of 2020, mid pandemic, with a B.S in Marketing, a minor in Spanish, and an international business certificate. I finally went vegan in the summer of 2019 and was experimenting heavily with vegan baking during quarantine.
I was casually selling my pumpkin loaves for fun in October 2020 and ended up selling 111 loaves! That gave me the push to continue baking, and to diversify by selling some of my other baked goods. With the support of my loving family and boyfriend, I decided to officially launch my business, The Divine Vegan in December 2020. The Divine Vegan is a home bakery specializing in vegan, nut-free sweets. Growing up with food allergies and restrictions made me miss out on so much!
It is super important to me that I produce sweet treats that are tasty, moist, and free of most common allergens so that the majority of people can enjoy them. As a home baker, I mostly do deliveries around the Valley, pick ups, and pop-up shop events! I hope to continue to expand my business by doing more in person events, catering, specialty and custom orders and deliveries, and anything else that piques my interest. Spreading love through food is a passion of mine, and the fact that it’s all cruelty-free makes everything taste a whole lot sweeter! 😉
