A typical day in my life includes… Wake up at 4:30am, go to the gym for an hour, first one to work to have my coffee and prepare for the day. I sleep in on the weekends (until 5:30am or so), and I love going for walks and being outdoors with my family.
I was born… in Richmond, VA. My dad was in dental school, so maybe that’s why it’s in my blood.
My favorite thing about Arizona… I absolutely love the mountains, specifically the McDowell Mountains. I have an amazing view of them from my office, there is something so peaceful and calming about them.
I’m listening to… Audiobooks on double speed is my thing. I love to listen to books on leadership, business, and how to overall be a better human and father. I also love music, and you can hear me singing along all day long, much to the dismay of my staff.
My family… is such a blessing to me. At the end of the day, that’s what really matters.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… my family. I figure anyone else important enough probably wrote a book I can read.
One thing I cannot live without… is water. I guess that’s true for everyone, but I always have a bottle of water next to me, I can’t get enough of that stuff.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… a doctor. I’m a dentist now, so I got close I guess…
I’m inspired by… other dentists and business owners doing things the right way. I find you don’t need to “sell” anything. If you treat people well, do great quality work, and run an honest business, it will naturally grow.
The one person who motivates me is… myself. I’ve always been someone who is constantly trying to improve and be the best I can be.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… that everyone would listen before they speak, and put themselves in other people’s shoes before making judgments.
The perfect day would be… to wake up and get a good workout in, have breakfast overlooking the ocean, and then hang out on the beach with loved ones.
My first job was… a camp counselor at a tennis camp (I had never played tennis in my life…)
My favorite escape… is the ocean in Rocky Point, Mexico. Something about the pace of life there forces me to slow down and relax.
My life… is on double time, just like my audiobooks. I’ve never done anything slow. I try to slow down and smell the roses, but who has time for that? I did listen to the book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry to try to help, but I did that on double time too…
I’m currently working on… a full office remodel. I am so excited about this next stage in my career. I am committed to providing exceptional customer service, and unmatched quality dentistry. I also want to continue to transforms people’s smiles and lives with the cosmetic dentistry I’m doing. That may not be what everyone is looking for, but for the patients that value those things, I want to be the dentist for them.

Biggest Dream… is to be the top cosmetic dentist in the country. I truly believe this is possible.
My Pet Peeve(s)… slow drivers (admittedly, I drive on double speed too. I blame the audiobooks I’m listening to on 2x)
Bio-on yourself/company: I’m Dr. Daniel Sluyk, and I’m a cosmetic and family dentist here in Scottsdale, AZ. I started my practice a little over 6 years ago. I believe strongly in giving my patients an amazing experience that they won’t find in many other places. The dental office can be a scary and uncomfortable place for a lot of people, which is why I have structured my practice to try to eliminate as much anxiety and fear as possible. I have the best team that provides excellent customer service, as well as the highest quality dental care available. I get to work with my dad, who is an Endodontist, and comes in one day per week. I specialize in cosmetic smile transformations, which is absolutely the most rewarding part of my job. While we take our jobs very seriously, we like to have a lot of fun. You’ll likely hear me singing in the office, or maybe even dancing in the hallway. If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right.
