A typical day in my life includes… an Americano to start my day at 5am. Then a quick workout at F45, shower and then a call or two from the car on the way to work. My day is filled with seeing patients either in the clinic or in the operating room and a bit of administrative follow up. I finish work with a couple of calls on the way to a business dinner.
Then I head back home and have some time to unwind with my new passion of learning guitar or jumping back into one of several great books I’m currently reading. Then it is off to bed by 10pm(ish) and it is repeated the following day.
I was born… the son of a preacher. My Dad’s honorable life of selflessly serving others has completely inspired my own path. He is why I decided to go into medicine so that I can serve others well.
My favorite thing about Arizona is… the legitimate food scene that always seems to be growing. Also the fact that no matter where I travel to, Arizona is always the best place to come home to.
I’m listening to… the Jordan Peterson podcasts. I’ve also been enjoying a bit of Rebelution and Stick Figure on Spotify.
My family... and my faith are my foundations in life. I don’t know where I would be without them.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Elon Musk. I am fascinated with how revolutionary creatives and entrepreneurs look at things as they are and ask how to make it better.
One thing I cannot live without is… Diet Coke.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… a physician or a lion tamer… go figure, but physician seemed more plausible.
I’m inspired by… leaders like Teddy Roosevelt. ”Man in the Arena” is one of my all time favorite Teddyisms.
The one person who motivates me… are my 3 sons. They motivate me to try to be a better man, father and example to others.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… less mean people.
The perfect day would be… a sunny blue day, heli-skiing somewhere in the French Alps. My first job was at McDonalds making French fries and I’m still addicted to them.
My favorite escape is… a really good book. My favorite current read is You’reInvited by Jon Levy. It is simply a game changer.
My life is… pretty fulfilled because helping people who have been suffering with chronic pain get back to life is pure joy. Also offering our team members at The Pain Center of Arizona an opportunity every day to make a difference in the lives of our patients is meaningful and truly rewarding.
I’m currently working on… teaching myself to play the guitar. I really hoped a more expensive guitar would make me sound better, still hoping.
Always… do your best to be present. Never forget to be grateful.
Favorite Quote is… “A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader; a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves.”
Biggest Dream… is a nationally recognized multidisciplinary campus of healthcare, dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic pain.
My Pet Peeve(s)… are slow drivers in the passing lane!
