A typical day in my life includes… Work, helping patients, managing practice, continually educating myself and spending time with my wife (daughter and son when in town) and friends and family.
I was born… in a small town in northern Illinois called Waukegan.
My favorite thing about Arizona… weather and scenery
I’m listening to… Christmas music (love Christmas season and Christmas songs) while working on this questionnaire.
My family… is the greatest blessing and gift in my life.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… wife, family and friends
One thing I cannot live without… Wife, my children, family
When I was younger, I wanted to be… Doctor because my maternal grandfather passed from a MI as did my mother later in life (adult)
I’m inspired by… My wife, a very successful person, both professionally and personally. Great leadership skills in business, working her way up to CFO previous company and current company. Great personality with many friends. At the same time loving and supportive wife and mother on top of her demanding professional life.
The one person who motivates me is… Myself as I want to be there (and be the best) for my wife, children, family, and my patients.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… Eliminate illness and hunger along with all the division and hate in the world resulting in a more healthy, loving and caring world.
The perfect day would be… Spending time with my wife, my kids (will always be my baby girl and little buddy), and friends, doing the things we enjoy in life. Helping my patients increase their health and well-being so they may enjoy family, friend and life more
My first job was… cleaning toilets at Plant #1 (family business). Started at the bottom and learned business from the ground up. Later, would end up running the family business. Also, worked at another manufacturer, where I was the fastest promoted executive at the time. Later went back to Family business. Later after my grandmother passed (she was the chairwoman of the Board), I would back into my real passion, medicine. (See “My Personal Journey”)
My favorite escape… movies by far, nothing like some popcorn with butter and salt, a good diet soda, and maybe some Milk Duds, (doctors are not perfect), sitting in a movie theatre with the big screen and awesome speakers for a couple of hours escaping the outside world.
My life… is a gift and blessing from God, while at the same time having my life blessed with my wife, children and family, all while following my passion of medicine and healing.
I’m currently working on… growing the practice and specialty to help even more patients, helping my daughter, along with my wife in her starting her own business, growing professionally and personally.
Always… be grateful for what you have, especially family and friends, because at the end of the day, nothing else matters if you don’t have your family and friends. Always treat people with kindness and respect.
Never… take things for granted, as you never know when you may lose it. Kind of like live each day as if was your last, spend time with family and friend, do things you always wanted to do, etc.; don’t wait until it’s to late
Favorite Quote… From the movie Evan Almighty:
“God: How do we change the world?
Evan Baxter: One single act of random kindness at a time.
God: [spoken while writing A-R-K on ground with a stick] One Act, of, Random, Kindness.”
Biggest Dream… To be a successful and the best husband and father, while at the same time, helping as many patients as I can overcome their illnesses, restoring their health and well-being, allowing them to live their life to its fullest. (Note: helping means being their guide on their journey of increasing their health and wellness. Ultimately, it’s the patient that heals themselves, not the doctor. And increasing ones’ health and well-being is a life-long journey, not a destination)
My Pet Peeve(s)… ungratefulness and negativity, selfishness, mentality of quick-fixes, that a pill or the like, will instantly solve your problems
