Meet Lucia Schnitzer, business owner at Luci’s Healthy Marketplace.  She and her husband own Luci’s Healthy Marketplace in Phoenix. The local coffee shop and marketplace opened in 2008 in Lucia’s honor after her successful battle with breast cancer. She successfully knows how to manage her career, her growing family (4 children), her personal well-being and the countless demands of the day.  Read how this superwoman answered these 20 questions.

I was born…

in Tucson Arizona.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the people.

I’m listening to…

Andrea Bocelli’s newest album,  Concerto: One Night in Central Park.

My family…

is what I think about when I wake up and think about when I close my eyes at night.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my great-grandmother, Lucia, she was a women ahead of her time.  I miss her.

One thing I cannot live without…

coffee… I can’t function without it!  I’m a better mother, wife, human being under the influence.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

an astronaut, teacher, actress, banker, mother, and a whole lot of other professions.  My 7 year old shares the same list, except she wants to own a market called, “Aviva’s Healthy Marketplace.

I’m inspired by…

all the women going through breast cancer and all cancer survivors.  Being a survivor myself, I could have never been able to gracefully embraced my cancer if it wasn’t for all the women before me, like       my beautiful sister-n-law Linda Schnitzer who is an amazing women, mother, wife and friend.

The one person who motivates me is…

my husband.  I see all that he is able to endure.  I get tired just watching him juggle all that he’s able to do.  His will and perseverance is beyond many.  I am able to be and do what I do because of him.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

children’s cancers, disease or disorders…I am in awe of their resilience and perseverance, but no child should ever have to face such grown up obstacles.

The perfect day would be…

watching my children play, laugh and tell me how much they love me with my wonderful husband by my side.  Life changes when  children make their way into your life.  You wonder what you did    with all that “time” you claim you didn’t have before children.

My first job was…

working for National Video when I was 15 years old in Laredo Texas.  Which is quite ironic since I didn’t grow up with a television or watching American movies. Yea, I know.

My favorite escape…

is a day at the Spa with my bestest friend in the whole wide world,   Tonette.  She forces me to be kind to myself and take the day to celebrate “me”, “friendship” and “life”.

My life…

is beautiful even with it’s up and down.  You need both in order to grow and sprout into the person we are meant to become.I’m currently working on…  On a cook book that focuses on healthy cooking for the busy family.

Always…

embrace what life has to offer you regardless if you understand it or not.  You never know where it will lead you.

Never…

stop loving yourself.  Always be good to yourself, even if you need to  be reminded from time to time.

Favorite Quote…

“Life has a unique way of entertaining us. Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry, but ultimately at the end of the day we learn a little more about ourselves.” by Lucia Schnitzer

Biggest Dream…

to be a mother of four children….I’m living that dream now, even  after being told when I had breast cancer seven years ago that I may not be able to have more children (had my oldest daughter only at that time) …Thank you G-d for proving statistics wrong.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

ironically my pet peeve is predictability. Ha Ha Ha!  A bad joke if you  ask me.  I just learn to take each moment for what it is, and I’ve  learned to control the things that I can and leave the rest to the wind.
