Meet Lori, she was raised here in the Valley of the sun and enjoys everything Arizona has to offer. She loves to offer her time and talents to help children in any way she can. Her weakness, anything chocolate. Read how she finished these 20 sentences.
Name: Lori A. Fleetwood
Age: Guess! Most days still feel 22…@ the most 25
Title: Full time REALTOR®; part time volunteer teacher @ Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Married/Single: Single; still waiting for the right one…
Kids: None yet; hope to adopt one to two as well
Live: In the heart of Sunny Scottsdale
I was born…
in Norwalk, CT, but raised in the desert oasis of the Phoenix/Arcadia neighborhood
My favorite thing about Arizona…
mountainous magenta sunsets
I’m listening to…
Nicky Minaj, Justin Bieber; my niece says I am his oldest fan! Really, I enjoy musically everything from Old School Rap to Country, Classic Rock to Reggae, Swing to Pop, and Alternative Rock to R & B, and everything in between.
My family…
is my everything! Without their enduring love, uplifting support, and everlasting strength, I would not be where I am today.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
my mother & father; everyday they are my shining example of TRUE LOVE. I feel incredibly honored by their loyalty, dedication, and devotion to each other and my brothers and me, while choosing to make sacrifices through all the good times as well as trials of this great opportunity called life.
One thing I cannot live without…
chocolate chip cookies; chocolate anything really!!!
When I was younger, I wanted to be…
an Olympian, specifically in long jump, mile run/1300 meter, and 4×100 relay; a twice injured Achilles tendon diverted that dream. Then really wanted to be a doctor, either an ophthalmologist or orthodontist, but neither was a good match for my needle queasiness.
I’m inspired by…
my students/kids. They’re never afraid to try anything new and are so tech savvy!!
The one person who motivates me is…
my father. My father worked his way from the ground up. He is the real deal (with his at least once a week pep talks just for me) and really is the greatest success that I know. He never allowed any hardships to clutter his personal or professional pathways. His never ending determination, endless loving and kind nature, strong passion and drive to succeed, all while thinking of others and keeping the benefit of others in mind make him my #1 HERO!!
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
that absolutely everyone be loved unconditionally and accepted for who they are.
The perfect day would be…
on a beach on Wailea, Maui or Nice/French Riveria, soaking up the sun, swimming, boating, followed by a scrumptious lobster dinner seaside with some rockin’ nightlife later on!
My first job was…
neighborhood babysitter during high school. My bank of coins always seemed to be overflowing back then…ahhhh ,the good ole days…Lol!
My favorite escape…
Boomer Beach in La Jolla, CA. I was so fortunate to spend many fun filled family summers there in the surf and sand…such wonderful family memories I will forever treasure! Or favorite city escape in Phoenix: window shopping at Tiffany’s
My life…
is gratifying…all of my experiences whether good or not have led me to the person I am today. I am an eternal optimist who wears her heart on her sleeve, knows she is not perfect and who is continually fulfilled by helping others. Enhancing others lives, having a servant’s heart and giving back in any way that I can, brings me such everlasting joy.
I’m currently working on…
growing my real estate business. I am also a volunteer teacher at Phoenix Children’s Hospital which is the favorite part of my week! Real Estate has been a bit of a transition from full time teaching in the sense that it of course has a business focus, but ultimately long term goals are similar with guiding families/clients in fulfilling their aspirations and dreams.
Always…
treat others as you want to be treated, be polite, follow your heart, show your appreciation, be sincere, be humble, be hopeful, have pride in yourself, and always, always… no matter how hard others might try to bring you down…..always take the high road!
Never…
let important words go unsaid to those you love, be jealous, judgmental, selfish, brag, or let what others might think of you prevent you from following your dreams, goals, or desires.
Favorite Quote…
”You’re bigger than your circumstances.” I heard Viola Davis say this during an interview awhile back and will never forget it.
Biggest Dream…
is to continue teaching/helping kids, and giving back to my community. Also, hopefully I will find the love of my life, be a mother, and travel to the island of Sicily in the Mediterranean to visit the towns of Palermo and Marsala (where my Nana and Papa are from); then continue traveling southward by ship to see the Egyptian pyramids and cruise back across the Atlantic on the QM2 to NYC.
My Pet Peeve(s)…
people that say um, really or whatever a lot, the negative or unmotivated, people who don’t offer to place the grocery conveyor belt separator thingy across, and long toenails….yeccckk!
