A typical day in my life includes… Up at 4am. Exercise, coffee, check business dashboard, check markets, drop kids at school, head into the office, attend one or more kid events in the evening.
I was born… Born and raised in Kansas City.
My favorite thing about Arizona… Proximity to a myriad of outdoor activities, our road system, late fall to early spring.
I’m listening to… The All In Podcast and Elon Musk’s biography.
My family… Is the definition of organized chaos! We would be a mess if it were not for my wife’s patience and determination to keep us all in line, on time and together!
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… My Dad, Jesus, or Taylor Swift (If Travis Kelce and my daughters could attend).
One thing I cannot live without… Bulletproof coffee in the morning.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… An archeologist, astronaut, doctor, psychotherapist & pro athlete. Altogether.
I’m inspired by… Anyone fearlessly pursuing their dream/passion with odds stacked against them.
The one person who motivates me is… There are many. The most current are RFK Jr and Vivek Ramaswamy’s pursuit to disrupt the political norm. Watching Patrick Mahomes gets me fired up too!
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… A macro infusion of honesty, humility, hard work and grace.
The perfect day would be… I have a family of five uniquely independent individuals; my favorite days include all of us together, being active, sharing stories, and lots of laughter.
My first job was… A bus boy at Catfish Annie’s in Lee’s Summit, MO.
My favorite escape… Fishing in Montana or sailing a catamaran anywhere.
My life… Starts fresh every day. I have many pursuits but everyday starts with a clean slate for original thought and choice. I always feel like I have a ton of time ahead of me which allows me to think and act on things that may not be conventional, considering the reality of time I am given.
I’m currently working on… It’s a secret, but it’s awesome.
Always… Actively exercise virtue and principle in the pursuit of your purpose.

Bio-on yourself/company: My father died at an early age; my mother raised me through my formative years. I moved to Arizona to attend ASU in 1998. Married my wife in 2004. I have always been driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. As luck would have it, I met my current business partners shortly following the financial crisis. We co-founded Tricor in 2014. Tricor is a product of optimal timing and finding incredible people with unrelenting work ethic and dedication. Sprouting from a small subcontracting operation in Phoenix for the Single-Family Rental asset class in 2012; growing into the largest national developer/construction service provider in our industry today.
