A typical day in my life includes…
waking up early and walking my Westie, Scotch Glen. Then I get some emails done and walk over to the studio – I am lucky that my commute is only a few blocks. These days, I usually film a class or two, then teach a yoga or barre class in the studio. I run to Staples or Walgreens near the studio a surprising lot to get Scotch some exercise and pick up necessities such as print outs or a Diet Coke. I like to finish my day relaxing in the hot tub after finishing a home-cooked healthy dinner or on a patio with a glass of pinot grigio and a friend.
I was born…
in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
My favorite thing about Arizona…
I have been visiting my grandmother here in the winter since I was a little girl, so it was always my dream to live here. My favorite thing is the year-round pool season!
I’m listening to…
since moving to Arizona I was introduced to Rob Ricardo. I find his music so inspiring and often use it in my classes.
My family…
are my biggest cheerleaders! I am an only child, so I am close to both my loving parents and they are super supportive. I miss them, since they are holding down the fort in Edmonton, but they visit often, especially in the winter when my grandma is here too!
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
Taylor Swift. She is Miss Americana! She’s empowering to other women, she loves to cook and hang with her pets, and she seems like she has the most fun friends!
One thing I cannot live without…
McDonald’s fries. They are my one occasional indulgence, they’re best when they are freshly made!
When I was younger, I wanted to be…
President of the United States.
I’m inspired by…
my students. Seeing the people who take classes with us embody what we built this studio to be about: Compassion, Courtesy, Community, Commitment, and Connection.
The one person who motivates me is…
Anton Mackey. He has been a mentor to me in yoga and life for the last year. I am learning so much about myself by continuing my yoga education, always.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
that everyone is kinder and more open to trying new things, like a yoga or a barre class!
The perfect day would be…
starting the day with coffee with my friend and neighbor, Katie, at our neighborhood bodega, Provisions. Taking a morning barre class from one of my badass teachers. going for a hike around Papago with Scotch. Having a yummy lunch on a patio, then hanging by the pool and getting some sun. Taking a yin or restorative yoga class, then having a margarita and a bite with some friends.
My first job was…
I worked at a grocery store in Edmonton. It was NOT my cup of tea!
My favorite escape…
going to the lake and boating with some friends.
My life…
is my studio.
I’m currently working on…
developing online and live digital classes at the studio.
Always…
Ruffles.
Never…
tobacco.
Favorite Quote…
“If you love your job, you will never work a day in your life.”
Biggest Dream…
for CA Yoga Barre to be the studio and community home for many and all students of yoga, barre, life.
My Pet Peeve(s)…
people who honk right when the light turns green.
