“Together, we are passionate about building our business and pursuing our dream.”

AZF: What is your “life motto?”

MD: “Trust the timing of your life.”

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?

MD: It became clear to me that entrepreneurship was my true calling after the birth of my son.  I was eager to return to work but wanted more flexibility in my schedule. My husband and I have always envisioned working together, but we were unsure what that would look like. Once I concluded I didn’t want to return to a traditional 9 to 5 job, we had an open conversation and decided that it was the right time to take a leap and build our business together.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?

MD: I feel best supported in a room of female entrepreneurs. Although we may come from different business backgrounds, we walk a similar path. We share a drive to create, a resilience to overcome setbacks, and a passion for building something meaningful. When I walk out of that room, I feel empowered knowing I am not on this journey alone.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?

MD: What motivates me is my son. While he may not want to take over the family business when he’s older, my hope is that he learns the value of resilience, how to face adversity, and the importance of cultivating a passion that can fuel his future. Knowing that my journey as an entrepreneur sets an example for him to build his own path, no matter what it looks like, gives me the strength to keep moving forward.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.

MD: An ideal Saturday morning for me involves enjoying the outdoors with my family. We love hiking, biking, or playing in the backyard together. Following that up with a yummy brunch makes for the perfect weekend morning!

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?

MD: Don’t let adversity stand in the way of your dreams. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and clarify what matters most. Struggles in business aren’t obstacles, they’re stepping stones that refine your vision and purpose. Entrepreneurship is a journey of ups and downs, but remember: you are the creator of your dream. Shape it, build it, and make it yours. It doesn’t have to fit anyone else’s mold. Trust your vision, embrace the challenges, and keep moving forward.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?

MD: The connections I get to make within our community, and the opportunity to build a legacy with my husband.
