AZF: What is your “life motto”?
AG:
Life is a mixture of work and fun. Put in the work, enjoy the fun, and even better, make work fun.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
AG:
I used to think being an ‘entrepreneur’ meant inventing something. I never expected that to be me. I realize now that being an entrepreneur can take on many different meanings. It encompasses every type of business and is attainable by anyone. Whether it’s a tangible item, a strategy, a sequence, an approach or something else, all these things make each company unique and all of them together is what makes an entrepreneur.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
AG:
Words of affirmation are a big thing for me and go a long way.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
AG:
I think it’s important for my kids to see that life has ups and downs, successes and failures, and all of which make us who we are. We can’t expect life to be perfect and it’s how we handle these situations that define us.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
AG:
Easy. I’d wake up on my own (no alarm clock!) and get ready for brunch with family and friends. That and the afternoon would definitely include a massage!

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
AG:
Running a business is hard! Administrative tasks can consume your day. Take the time to now to make it easier later. Create templates with info about common questions (use emails you’ve already sent as a starting point). Add alerts to your calendar to remind you of annual reporting, taxes, website subscriptions etc. before they are due/renew. Prioritize timely invoicing. Even your happiest customer does not like receiving a surprise bill!

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
AG:
Being an entrepreneur is exciting, in that it allows you to cater to your clients needs in a way that others may not be able to. Being confident in the ability to tailor each client’s experience based on their individual needs and preferences is so freeing. Owning a business allows you the flexibility to provide the best prices for any requested level of service ensuring that all parties walk away happy.
