AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
EW: No, but I always felt this urge for more. This nagging feeling that I shouldn’t settle for what others around me deemed ‘enough’. I needed to get out of my comfort zone and take chances, submerge myself into a space where I knew no-one just to see how I could survive. I took an absolute leap into the uncomfortable when I moved to Arizona knowing only 1 person, and then again when I quit my comfortable salaried job, & threw myself into Selling Real Estate 9 years ago.
AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
EW: No walls, no ceiling, just ENDLESS possibilities.
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
EW: That I am one of one. No one else in the world thinks/acts/puts in creative effort like I do. I am my sole competition. And that there is always room to do better & try harder than yesterday. No one can take away your success or say you didn’t earn it, when you are the only one responsible.
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
EW: I feel best supported when someone simply & genuinely asks ‘what they can do to help?’. Now, if I’m honest, I’m not good at accepting help, nor am I good at asking for help but just the simple gesture of the ‘ask’ feels like a heart hug. The feeling of being seen, heard, recognized and thought of, is the best kind of support.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
EW: Literally just experienced it! Waking up in Cabo, to the sound of the ocean waves. Room service coffee on the patio as the sun was rising. Getting a good workout in, then grabbing Brunch overlooking the ocean while getting to watch whales off in the distance. Magical, untouchable; the perfect Saturday morning.
AZF: What is your “life motto”?
EW: That you can’t fight fate. Every decision you have made, has brought you to where you are today. See the good and celebrate it. Learn from the mistakes, but know there is always an upside to down times. It always works out how it is supposed to (but not for lack of effort).
AZF: What’s one piece advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
EW: Learn as much as you can, stay curious, ask every question, follow your gut and know that you will never be done learning. That even though sales are frustratingly inconsistent, you can’t stop being relentlessly consistent.
