My family has used, what I was calling “Secret Garden Salt” on every meal for seven years. (Named after my favorite childhood book.) Two years ago, my friends and family encouraged me to share what they called “Magic Salt” with the world. So here we are now, with everyone from your 2-year-old to your 92-year-old grandfather, addicted to Secret Garden Magic Salt.”
AZF: What is your “life motto”?
GF: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
GF: Heck no! This was not the plan. But after giving pounds and pounds of Magic Salt away, my husband gently encouraged “Hunny, I think you have a business here. It’s time to start charging.”
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
GF: Selling a product and being a business owner was completely new to me. I knew I needed help, and I wanted it to come from other female entrepreneurs that were successful and approachable. I joined The Foundress over a year ago and it has been the best decision! These women have helped me grow and have pushed me in so many ways. When I have a question, they have an answer or a connection. They encourage me, support me, and have brought so much value to my life and business. Having the support of other females going through similar things is priceless! “Community is vital for growth.”
I also feel best supported when I’m taking care of my body and listening to what it needs. When I’m nurturing it with good sleep, sunlight, grounding, spiritual time, family time, exercise, and, of course, delicious and nutritious Magic Salt covered food.
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
GF: Knowing my why! Magic Salt has blessed my family is so many ways. It’s helped heal our guts and transformed the way we eat. I am motivated by the daily messages I receive from a mom with a child now gobbling their veggies. Or from the women so grateful because her elderly husband has a new restrictive diet and Magic Salt is making everything still taste good and easy to make.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
GF: I awake early with the sun, while the rest of the house is still asleep. I am grateful for the quiet morning…knowing the noise and excitement will come later. I walk outside barefoot in my backyard, soaking up the morning light and birds chirping. Next, I make my delicious cinnamon morning matcha and spend time reading my bible with my puppy chewing her bone happily beside me. The house is still asleep as I quietly slip off to F45 for an awesome 45-minute workout. I come home, high on my endorphins, to kids waking up. We go upstairs and crawl in bed with dad and have a great family cuddle session. We laugh, love each other, and talk about our upcoming day.
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
GF: Know your why and get ready to grow thy self!
