AZF: What is your “life motto”?
MK: Purposeful action, guided by intuition, leads to meaningful outcomes.
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
MK: I’ve always been fascinated by homes, and how families thrive in them. When I got into real estate, I quickly realized my motivations and vision were unique. Entrepreneurship followed!
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
MK: I feel best supported when in the company of my sweet family, and in rooms with other women who understand the challenges and joys of balancing motherhood with entrepreneurship.
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
MK: It may seem obvious, but my 2 daughters motivate me daily. For them, I want to be an example of perseverance and grace. To show them that being a business owner can serve as a compliment to my most important job, as mom.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
MK: My perfect Sunday morning would start early with some quiet time and a pilates class before the fam wakes up. Then, a long walk on the greenbelt of my neighborhood, McCormick Ranch, 2 little cuties in the stroller and my dog Lucy along for the sniffs. We’d stop at a Press Coffee for an almond milk latte and end up at the playground to get all our wiggles out!
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
MK: Find spaces where you can learn, and learn as much as you can. Be a constant observer, of business, habits, lifestyle, leadership. Get in community as quickly as possible, that’s the best place to learn!
