A typical day in my life includes… Husband brings me breakfast in bed, I balance my coffee on my flat abs, breath smells like lavender, kids kiss me goodbye as they leave in a limo to school to continue straight A’s with no studying, decide to watch Netflix all day because my house is spotless. Husband brings me flowers he grew out of his garden. A bee from a rose stings me…I suddenly wake up to an alarm blaring, kids grumpy, house dirty, husband gone to work.
I was born… in Iowa to parents that probably hoped for a girl who followed rules
My favorite thing about Arizona… absolutely beautiful everywhere I go in AZ. I love Sedona hiking.
I am listening to… silence because I enjoy alone time (hard to find, but needed).
My family… is a beautiful mess full of world changers.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Michelle Obama. I’m inspired by her intelligence, character, strength, grace and her love for people.
One thing I cannot live without… a toothbrush.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… I stood up in church at 5 years old and said “I want to be a preacher… or a stripper.”
I am inspired by… people who choose love over hate.
The one person who motivates me is… if I could change anything in the world, it would be… more people should choose love over hate.
The perfect day would be… any day with kids and husband and NO ELECTRONICS.
My first job was… hostess at Village Inn at 16 years old, “Table for two?”.
My favorite escape… traveling anywhere I haven’t been but I also love my side of the bed, my pillow, my bedroom.
My life… has not been fair and I am grateful.
I am currently working on… TreasureHouse.org, my dream, my vision, my hope for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Always… forgive.
Never… forget.
Favorite Quote… life is not fair. And then you die. (Honest and straightforward).
Biggest Dream… my children to fully know how much God loves them.
My Pet Peeve(s)… I realized the “opening” in Spanx was really a bad prank on me.
