Title: Social Media Consultant, Life & Style Travel Blogger

Married/Single: in a relationship with my forever person!

Kids: none yet!

City you live in: Tempe, AZ

A typical day in my life includes…

caffeine, checking over my to-do list and scheduling out anything that is time-sensitive. Every day is a bit different in terms of tasks but throughout the week I focus on the following for my own social media/blog as well as clients: photography, editing, copywriting, copy editing, blogging, research, travel planning, creating or unpacking creative briefs, social media posting and engagement, data tracking and analysis, and one-on-one coaching. I absolutely love what I do so I tend to work extensive days – sometimes 10+ hours regularly. They typically end with a few episodes of Netflix or HBO with my boyfriend and our dog, Knox!

I was born…

in Indianapolis and grew up there. I actually didn’t care for living in Indiana a decent amount of my life but I am looking forward to getting back to the Midwest (or at least closer to my parents) in the coming years.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

our amazing weather (most) of the year! While I do miss the seasons especially in our hot fall, the winter and spring here are like nowhere else with the opportunity to get outdoors nearly all year round.

I’m listening to…

a mix of my usual indie/folk and oldie classic go-to’s plus some newer (to me) sounds from electronic artists.

My family…

is actually all across the US! My mom recently moved out to Arizona to be closer to my Grandma and my dad is still living in Indiana with my amazing stepmom. My (not so little) brother is now living in Cleveland, a place I adore and highly recommend visiting! Even though we aren’t all together, family is super important to me. We text and send each other memes constantly!

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my younger self! Growing up I was always so unsure of my future and where I would go and it gave me so much anxiety. I would definitely want to tell myself it would all work out, even the painful things, and that the future is something to look forward to, not spend time worrying over.

One thing I cannot live without…

lotion! I have the absolute hardest time doing anything with dry (or slightly dry) hands.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

an archeologist/paleontologist/Egyptologist! I was raised on Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and The History channel so I was really interested in all those types of things. When I was little it was a special thing to stay up past my bedtime with my dad to watch a new History Channel special as silly as it sounds, I adored it!

I’m inspired by…

pretty much everything! I get inspiration from the world around me – interactions, experiences, travel, sounds, and sites. In terms of my own work, I love getting inspired by films, editorial photography, and of course what’s trending on socials like Pinterest.

The one person who motivates me is…

my boyfriend, Cody! He is the single most inspiring, kind, and supportive person I’ve ever known, and he pushes me to be better, bit by bit. From sharing more positivity or kindness, he’s the epitome of the phrase “you are who you spend time with” in the best of ways.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

economic inequality! I grew up in a lot of different economic situations, some really good and others really awful, and it’s given me a lot of insight into the many sides of economic inequality. While there are certainly even deeper problems that create it like racism, sexism, ableism, and many more, I think it’s something many of us would like to see lessened especially right now where the inequity is strikingly clear.

The perfect day would be…

mild weather with a bit of a breeze but lots of sun, time to have slow meals and coffee plus extended time outdoors just exploring, reading, writing, and taking it all in! Bonus points if it could be with my family who are all pretty far away.

My first job was…

working as a lifeguard for a country club in Indianapolis. It was fun because everyone was around my age or a bit older and thankfully I never had to really save anyone, just a bloody nose and splinter!

My favorite escape…

any of the National Parks or a quiet bookstore, preferably local.

My life…

is quite chaotic but it’s mine. I definitely wished I would have been taught expectation management at a younger age.

I’m currently working on…

expanding my personal brand and business! Creating new ways to serve my audience and clients is an ongoing work in progress I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Always…

stick around for another drink (or conversation), that’s when things typically get good.

Never…

go along with something that gives you a bad feeling in your gut. Your gut is (almost) always right!

Favorite Quote…

“The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable;

they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed”

– Ernest Hemingway

Biggest Dream…

serving as the creative director on a launch or line for a business. As I keep growing this is something that keeps coming back into my big goals list!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

in general, they can be summed up as anything that is the result of lacking common courtesy. While it isn’t so common, it ought to be!
