A typical day in my life includes…
waking up and making a healthy breakfast with coffee to start my day. For the most part, I eat very clean except for the occasional sweet tooth and by occasional, I mean every single day, after every meal; it’s bad. Then, I get ready for work and head into the office. I work during the week, as well as game days. At a game, you can find me on the mic hosting the NAZ Suns games. I create fun promos for fans to enjoy and bring them to life on camera. My days seem to fly by, but seeing everything up close and personal with a sports team is very exciting and a once in a lifetime opportunity that I can say I am very thankful to be a part of.
I was born…in Arizona!
My favorite thing about Arizona…
is that even though I am born and raised here, I still feel like I fall in love with this state every single day. We are so fortunate to live in a place where the weather is perfect year round and has all these amazing restaurants and shops to explore. I love how you can be in the city, but drive two hours and be in the snow. There is always something to do.
I’m listening to…
I have to be honest, I am all over the place with music. It just has to fit my mood, but typically I go for Hip-Hop/Rap. Big fan of The Weeknd. His songs always put me in a relaxed mood.
My family…
is the best. They are always there for me at the end of the day and have always supported me with everything I do. I couldn’t ask for a better support system. We are all so goofy together and that’s what makes my heart happy; spending genuine time with the ones you love.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…
wow, this is a tough one. Definitely Melanie Collins or Kacie McDonnell. I truly admire the work and reporting styles of these two beautiful sports reporters. I would love the opportunity to pick their brain on how they took over the sports world by storm.
One thing I cannot live without…
chapstick and a big bottle of water. Always staying hydrated. Oh, and green tea…sorry that’s three things. Oops!
When I was younger, I wanted to be…
a veterinarian. Animals are my weakness.
I’m inspired by…
strong, powerful females, not only in the sports industry, but everywhere. It’s refreshing to see women uplift other women instead of putting them down. We’re in this together ladies!
The one person who motivates me is…
my family. I want to make them proud of my work.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be…
traffic!!! I spend countless hours stuck in traffic throughout the week. Sometimes, I wish I could just snap my fingers and be home!
The perfect day would be…
waking up early (I’m a big morning gal), grabbing a cup of coffee and heading to a Pilates class. Recently, I dove into the Pilates world and man, do I love it. I feel like I’m seeing results very quickly and not only that, but it’s a stress reliever for me. My favorite spot is The Body Lab in Arcadia. Go there then head into AJ’s for a post Pilates treat!
My first job was…
a host at Sushi Roku in Scottsdale. Best sushi spot in Arizona hands down. Try the baked crab hand roll and you won’t regret it.
My favorite escape…
is going to the gym or to a Pilates class. It allows me to escape and focus on my body and myself. I have always loved to work out and finding new ways to get a good sweat on is fun, especially if you go with a friend. You two can push each other to reach your goals.
My life…
is very crazy with my work schedule, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I absolutely love what I do and am very passionate about the work I put out. You can see my passion on camera and how genuinely happy I am when speaking. When I go to work, it doesn’t feel like “work” because the things I am able to be a part of are so exciting and new every single day.
I’m currently working on…
wow, many projects to say the least. Currently, NAZ Suns season is still going on while the Arizona Rattlers season has just begun. Our seasons are over lapping just slightly so it’s been a hectic workplace for sure. Between both seasons, I have been debating on starting a blog/YouTube channel, what do you think?
Always…
have compassion for others. We never know what is going on in their lives so be kind to everyone around you.
Never…
put people down to make yourself better. Uplift those around you and radiate positive energy. Be beautiful not only on the outside, but the inside as well.
Favorite Quote…
“Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after an experience with you becomes your trademark.” –Anonymous
Biggest Dream…t
o be a Reporter for New England Sports Network (NESN).
My Pet Peeve(s)…
loud chewers.
More about Karra…
you can catch me at your local Arizona Rattlers game or even up the hill at a Northern Arizona Suns game behind the mic hosting. I am born and raised in Arizona (I know, I’m a rare breed). I even graduated from Arizona State University, where I received a degree in Communications. I’ve worked for over five sports teams here in the Valley of the Sun and absolutely love what I do!
