It’s a conflict that plagues pet owners anytime a trip out of town rolls around. To go away and leave your pet in the care of another (be it a friend, pet resort, or other avenue), can add stress to what is supposed to be a relaxing, rejuvenating getaway.
As if the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay isn’t enticing enough with its luxurious accommodations, sensational dining and location perched perfectly above Pacific bluffs, the resort recently initiated their new Pampered Pooch Program, encouraging guests to bring their furry friends along on vacation.
“Now we’ve made pets as welcome at the resort as any of our guests,” said Jay Heidenreich, Director of Sales & Marketing.
The Pampered Pooch Program encompasses many amenities for four-legged friends, beginning with pet-friendly guesthouses. Located along the Coastal Trail, these guesthouses provide easy access to walking trails and green lawns. But it’s what’s inside the sizably larger guesthouses that’ll make Fido feel the most at home. Each features a plush dog bed, food and water bowls, a chew toy and a pet-specific door hanger to alert housekeeping of the furry guests inside. A one-time cleaning fee of $125 is required to participate in the Pampered Pooch Program.
In true Ritz fashion, no detail of your pet’s stay will be overlooked, including their nutrition. An in-room dining menu features canine casserole, bow wow meatballs and rice, home-baked biscuits and pet friendly ice cream. For your pup’s entertainment, the Ritz-Carlton launched a Pup Play Dates program ($90 per pup), which keeps pets occupied with walks on the beach and coastal trails and a few games of fetch. Body brushing and grooming services are also available upon request.
