A good spa should be at the least, relaxing and soothing. That is the point of a spa after all. But what makes a great spa is more than just the expected amenities. A recent visit to JW Marriott Camelback Inn‘s spa proved that this is a great one, and one we will return to many times.
Unparalleled Setting + Amenities
Tucked near the back of the resort at the base of Mummy Mountain, the secluded setting is the cherry on top of checking out of reality. Upon entrance, a grand lobby leads down to the on-site restaurant which looks out onto the heated lap pool backdropped by views of the surrounding mountains and desert and lined with private cabanas and comfy loungers. Inside, the amenities are just as abundant. Enjoy a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and relaxation lounge. There’s even an entire boutique dedicated to skin care on your way into the women’s lounge.
Dreamy Treatments
During summer, book the seasonal Mango Tango treatments for a burst of zesty orange and papaya infusion. The body treatment envelopes you in a moisturizing wrap of aloe while the facial features Jan Marini products and sends you into a citrus overdrive with a lasting glow. Other year-round treatment options include spa packages, a variety of facials, desert-themed body treatments and traditional massages. There’s also a full-service salon and fitness services.
Healthy (Delicious) Cuisine
Serving up breakfast, lunch and snacks, the spa’s onsite restaurant Sprout’s should be visited regardless of if you’re getting pampered or not. With a bar and indoor and outdoor seating, there’s plenty of space to fully zen out pre- or post-treatment. Serving up healthy yet still flavor-packed options, menu choices include balanced breakfast items like avocado toast and berry bowls while lunch features soups, salads, sandwiches and main dishes. For a midday meal get your hands on the Thai Shrimp & Rice Soup or Bruschetta Trio to start before diving into an insane Shrimp Bowl. And since the cocktails are organic and health-focused, there’s no guilt in ordering more than one Detox Margarita, a delish pick made with fresh aloe.
